Glögg

My Dad and uncle have been making this stuff since time out of mind. I, too, have taken up this time honored tradition. You can enjoy this hot or cold, depending on your mood.

Ingredients: 

3 L Tawny Port
1 qt (or liter) Christian Bros. brandy
1 pt grain alcohol
1 Glögg mix (preferably Collins brand)
pinch sugar

Directions: 

Place Glögg mix into small saucepan and cover with port wine. Heat over low flame. At the same time, heat the rest of the port in large stainless steel pot over low flame.

Just as the mixture starts to steam, pour into the pot of port wine and cook, uncovered, for about 15 minutes.

Add brandy and cook, covered for 30 minutes.

Add pinch of sugar and grain alcohol and cook for 15 minutes, covered.

Cool and bottle, dividing fruits evenly.
